Over 34 years ago, in 1987, Steve Britton established Britton Maritime Systems. He started the company after a successful 11-year career serving as an Engineer for the Royal Australian Navy. With a vision to create a professional engineering company to support Australian Defence, he began the company at a small slipway in Yowie Bay NSW. With his understanding on the importance of relationships, he was able to build a solid base of local technicians and mechanics, and using his own knowledge, began to offer innovative solutions for customers including the Department of Defence.

In the early 1990’s, Britton Maritime began providing services for the Royal Australian Navy Support Craft, which included vessel and engine repair works and vessel repowers. The company was recognised for their ‘expertise, integrity and professionalism’ and for being ‘innovative and informative’. From there, the company continued to develop innovative solutions for problems and expand upon their network, propelling the company to become one of the best known and highly sought-after providers of maritime products and services in Australia, and internationally. This vision has continued through the Company’s passion for finding solutions to our customers problems, with the aim of developing a highly functional industry, we have set a foundational support network that focuses on collective innovation through knowledge and skill transfer. Through this network we have established critical local and international relationships, giving limitless possibilities for every need our customers may have.
