Throughout BMS’s history it has been closely involved with the sustainment and support of its products. Inclusive of repair, maintenance, comprehensive sparing support and training, BMS has provided on many occasions a full or tailored Integrated Logistics Supply package. With its HQ in Kurnell, Sydney, this sustainment has stretched Australia wide as well as into the SW Pacific, New Zealand and South East Asia. For the most part the products have been confined to surface craft and surface craft assemblies. In recent years, BMS has developed additional capabilities relating to non-boat related electronics overhaul, communications and specialised pump manufacture and support. These additional product lines have bolstered BMS’s overall capacity and utility as a sustainment provider.
Specifically, BMS has sustainment capability to support a comprehensive array of composite (FRP/GRP), alloy and steel marine craft design and shipwright services, associated platform systems design, maintenance and overhaul, and support services. In-house capabilities in hypalon, inflatable and solid foam and rubber systems and upholstery allow for a “one stop” support craft build and maintenance facility. BMS also has complimentary skills in areas such as GPS, Radar, navigational equipment, communications (internal and external), autonomous systems and tracking systems (including support and repair facilities) and training.
